Unfortunately, the government have decided to reduce the entitlement of the business rates relief scheme for retail, hospitality and leisure (RHL) properties, from the 75% payable discount that was applied during the financial years 23/24 and 24/25, to a 40% payable discount for this financial year (25/26), resulting in a huge increase in the payable amount for ratepayers occupying RHL properties. This equates to a payable business rates increase of over 100% for RHL property ratepayers for the financial year 25/26.
